He conducted research at Massachusetts General Hospital / Harvard Medical School. He received his medical degree at Temple University Medical School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He then completed his Internship and Residency in Anesthesiology at The New York Hospital-Cornell Medical School in New York City. During his Fellowship in Pain Management at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, he was appointed Chief Fellow. Dr. Chen is Board Certified in Anesthesiology and has a Sub-specialty Board Certification in Pain Management. He also is a licensed medical acupuncturist from the UCLA School of Medicine. Dr. Chen came to Clearwater, Florida in 1995 to help establish Clearwater Pain Management Associates. His expertise is in the interventional management of chronic pain, with a special interest in back pain and cancer pain. Dr. Chen has published articles in scientific peer reviewed journals, and lectures nationally and internationally on topics regarding pain management.
